Information for Your Foreign Worker
In order to qualify for an H2-a visa your worker(s) will need to get a passport which can sometimes take as long as a week to a month. To obtain their passport, they will need a minimum of a birth certificate, two forms of official ID or a previous passport. It is important that their passport does not expire during the time they are employed by you, if it does, it can be costly and time consuming to get it corrected.
The Association office will contact you as soon as we receive an approval notice from the U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Once this petition has been issued you should inform your worker(s) that an appointment for an interview at the U.S. Consulate is necessary. For workers applying in Mexico this step can be facilitated by contacting Francis or Graciela Wartenbergh in Hermosillo, Mexico. Their office (Esperanza Recruiting) is conveniently located next to the consulate and they are available to assist your worker(s) with reasonable direct bus transportation, appointment scheduling as well as all the paperwork necessary to apply for their visa.
